Sleep it Off emerged as a personal expression of a collective moment. With a steady flow of extreme news stories and events around the world, it expresses the impossible desire to be woken up when everything goes back to "normal". And poses the question, "if not that, then what now?" Hope is built on circles, loops, and seasons.

The baby in the corner was crying out for milk,
when I said I'd none to give her, she screamed a pretty hell.
I wanted to be released and
I wanted to escape.
But there was no one there to police it.
No one to mitigate.

I'm scared about the future
I'm unprepared for what's ahead.
I'm wondering what it wants from me,
I might just get my head down and sleep it off instead.

The fables from the fathers were tearing at the seams,
The terror in the garden had been carried down the streams.
We want to make it better and
we want to make it well
But when the wind falls silent
we can't escape that pretty hell

The conscientious hero is coming out to play,
when I said I'd nothing left in me, he said I'd have to pay.
He wants to end the hatred
he's got a taste to win the war
And when he's finished with his legacy
He's coming after us all.
